The wooden theatre, with a circumference of 100 metres, was built in less than three months and can accommodate up to 1,206 spectators. The repertoire regularly features the great plays of William Shakespeare, staged by leading Italian actors. The theatre’s artistic direction was undertaken by the renowned actor and director Gigi Proietti, who conceived the project.
